Dance with the cattails swaying
wildly near the river’s edge,
To the rhythmic strumming of the
breeze against your cheek;
Reddened by the sun’s arms.Forget the companionship of your sister
And relish in that of the swallows;
Their graceful flight caressing every cloud in the painted sky.
Awaken the water with the screams you keep hidden in your soul.
Here, you are no longer taciturn.
Raze the tranquility upon which you stand.
Chaos is your only serenity.
the imagery in this is amazing. i liked the line "chaos is your only serenity" you made it seem so true by depicting this peacful scene, it was really intriguing!

ReplyDeleteSolid poem! The scene is captured well so few words. It speaks to the sometimes relaxing nature of chaos. Certainly one of the better poems I've read.
ReplyDeleteI like the imagery in this, and how well the scene can play in my mind. "Sing to the silence of the meadow. Awaken the water with the screams you keep hidden in your soul." i really like this line.
